Hyderabad, October 2, 2024: The TiE Women Regional Finals 2024 took place on Tuesday evening at The Club Botanika, Jayabheri Enclave, Gachibowli. Out of 142 participants, 10 exceptional women reached the final round, where they pitched their innovative ideas to the jury.
The winner of the competition was Kriash, followed by EasyLife as the first runner-up and OsteoForge as the second runner-up.
Dr. Neetika Ashwani, CEO and Founder of Kriash, secured the top prize of Rs 25,000. Kriash aims to improve skin-to-skin contact in premature babies by using wireless tracking and vitals monitoring through a non-invasive medical device. This winning startup will represent the region at the global pitch competition in Bangalore this December.
Dr. Nalluri Hima Bindu, Founder and Chairperson of EasyLife Mobility Innovations, was awarded Rs 15,000 as the first runner-up for her startup, which manufactures electric wheelchairs.
Dr. Ramya, Co-Founder & CEO of Osteoforge Medtech, received Rs 10,000 as the second runner-up for her medtech startup.
Additionally, Raga Shailaja, Founder of Gravy Stories, won the elevator pitch award.
The TiE Women Global Pitch Competition offers women entrepreneurs a platform to showcase their business ideas and gain valuable exposure.
In his video address, Mr. Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Special Chief Secretary, noted that Telangana became the first state to launch NITI Aayog’s Women Entrepreneurship Platform chapter. This platform aims to foster women entrepreneurship through customized support and services.
T-Hub CEO Mahankali Srinivas Rao shared that, according to a survey, 21% of India’s 63 million businesses are owned by women, with only 1% employing more than 10 people. He emphasized that increasing women-led startups can create millions of jobs.
Murali Bukkapatnam, Vice Chair of TiE Global Board of Trustees, highlighted TiE’s impact, contributing over a trillion US dollars to the global economy. He praised women as some of the best entrepreneurs.
Srinivas Chandupatla, President of TiE Hyderabad, remarked that women are the future business leaders who will significantly impact the global economy.
