35 Science-Math-Environment Models Exhibited by Young Scientists from Various Schools in the District
“Science and Spirituality Complement Each Other: Combining Science with Spirituality Leads to Astonishing Results”

Surat (Gujarat): Under the guidance of GCERT Gandhinagar and District Education and Training Bhavan Surat, as well as the District Panchayat Education Committee, a taluka-level children’s science exhibition for 2024 was organized by the Kamrej Taluka Panchayat and BRC Kamrej in Orna village. The event was graced by the presence of the Minister of State for Education, Prafulbhai Panseriya. Young scientists from various schools in the district displayed 35 models related to science, mathematics, and the environment.
The exhibition, based on the theme “Science and Technology for a Sustainable Future,” was held at Patel Ramanbhai Sarvajanik Vidyalaya, managed by Orna Kelvani Mandal. Minister Prafulbhai Panseriya viewed the students’ scientific models with great interest, encouraging the young scientists for their research and wishing them success in making significant contributions to the country’s progress in the future.
During the event, Minister Panseriya expressed that science exhibitions are an excellent medium to uncover the dormant talents, skills, and creativity in children. He highlighted how science helps address the challenges faced in human life, noting that nations progress through scientific discoveries and innovations. The education department actively promotes such science exhibitions every year to foster scientific thinking, stimulate research instincts, and ignite an interest in mathematics among students.
The minister further remarked that with pure intentions and hard work in the right direction, success is inevitable. Drawing examples from ancient sages like Maharshi Kanad and Rishi Bharadwaj, he emphasized that India’s sages were reservoirs of knowledge. Our Vedas and Puranas demonstrate the profound connection between science and spirituality, which continues to inspire the world. According to him, science and spirituality are complementary, and the fusion of spirituality with science yields extraordinary outcomes.
Minister Panseriya also noted that there is no greater science than humanitarianism and added that science has transformed the course of development since the creation of the Earth.
Primary Education Officer Jyotiben Patel, in her address, explained the purpose of the science-math exhibition. The students of the school welcomed the audience with prayers and a welcome song. The scientific models presented at the exhibition covered themes like organic farming, solar power, smart homes, smart transportation and traffic management, food health and hygiene, mathematical models and computational thinking, disaster management, and robotic agriculture. The winning students were awarded shields by the minister and will represent the taluka at the district-level exhibition.
Dignitaries present at the event included Taluka Panchayat President Rekhaben Patel, District Panchayat Education Committee Chairperson Bharatiben Rathod, Executive Mukesh Rathod, District Primary Education Officer Jayesh Patel, Village Sarpanch Zhiniben Rathod, Orna Kelvani Mandal President Chetanbhai Bhakta, Kamrej BRC Kamlesh Patel, along with educational representatives from Surat district and Kamrej taluka. Several school principals, BRC/CRC members, district and taluka panchayat members, teachers, young scientists, and students were also in attendance in large numbers.
