Over 5,000 Women Join Mega Kanwar Yatra in Surat, ‘Har Har Mahadev’ Chants Fill the Air

Surat witnessed a spectacular display of devotion on the eve of the second Monday of Shravan, as over 5,000 women participated in a massive Kanwar Yatra. Organized for the 13th consecutive year, the event combined the spiritual journey with a grand Partheshwar Shivling puja, making it one of the largest women-led Kanwar processions in the city’s history.

The yatra began at Siddhkutir Mahadev Temple in Kapodara, where devotees collected holy water from the Tapi River in traditional kanwars. The procession culminated at the Sports Complex (Jalkranti Maidan) on Eke Road, where, under the guidance of spiritual leader Om Guru and in the presence of political and social dignitaries, participants performed the Parthiv Shivling puja together. The atmosphere was filled with chants of ‘Har Har Mahadev’, creating a sea of saffron across the venue.

Komalben Patel, President of Mother Mahila Charitable Trust, said, “Today, more than 5,000 women came together to worship and promote Sanatan Dharma not only in India but across the globe. As long as Hindus live on this earth, the chants of ‘Har Har Mahadev’ will echo.”

Following the rituals, the event concluded with the felicitation of Kanwar participants and prominent religious, political, and social figures. Volunteers also honored the national flag, spreading a message of unity and patriotism.
