On May 26, 2025, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced that Shreeja Mahila Milk Producer Organisation and Mother Dairy will set up new processing plants in the state, as part of the Swarna Andhra vision. These initiatives are expected to generate approximately 8,000 new jobs, contributing to economic development and enhanced employment opportunities in the region.

Shreeja Mahila Milk Producer Company, headquartered in Tirupati, is the world’s largest women-owned and women-managed dairy cooperative. Established in 2014 with just 27 members, it has grown to over 1.09 lakh women members, primarily small and marginal landholders. The company procures about 8 lakh litres of milk daily and has been instrumental in empowering rural women through direct income and leadership roles.

Mother Dairy, a prominent dairy brand in India, plans to invest ₹150–200 crore in a new fruit and vegetable processing plant in Kuppam, Andhra Pradesh. This facility will focus on producing fruit pulp, concentrates, and pastes, providing farmers with better market prices and a guaranteed market for their produce.

These developments align with the state’s broader vision to promote industrial growth and rural upliftment through advancements in the agricultural and dairy sectors.
