Early Start of Shravan This Year, Ends on August 23
Special Worship Remedies for Marital Harmony and Wish Fulfilment Revealed by Astrologer
July 25, 2025: The sacred month of Shravan, dedicated to Lord Shiva, has begun today, marking a spiritually significant period for millions of devotees across India. This year, the month brings four auspicious Mondays (Somvar) and will continue until August 23, concluding on the new moon (Amavasya). Notably, this year’s Shravan has begun a week earlier than the previous year and is expected to witness widespread rainfall due to its Friday commencement.
According to renowned astrologer Ashish Rawal, the Shravan month is ideal for nullifying planetary doshas through dedicated worship of Lord Shiva. The Shiva Purana describes him as the most easily pleased among deities. Simply offering a kalash (pot) of pure water is believed to fulfill devotees’ desires.
Astrologer Rawal prescribes a special remedy for individuals facing delays in marriage or discord in married life:
Offer 108 grams of chana dal (split Bengal gram) along with sandalwood while chanting “Om Namah Shivaya” for each grain. After the offering, devote 250 grams of patasha (sugar candies) to Lord Shiva. This ritual is believed to resolve conflicts and attract marital bliss.
Why Shravan is Dear to Lord Shiva
Shravan is considered highly sacred as it is during this month that Goddess Parvati performed penance to marry Lord Shiva. Impressed by her devotion, Shiva granted her the boon of becoming his consort. It is also said that after the demise of Sati, Shiva was reunited with Parvati, his divine energy, during this month.
As per the 16th chapter of the Vidyashwar Samhita in Shiva Purana, Lord Shiva states that Shravan is the most beloved month to him. The presence of the Shravan Nakshatra during Purnima (full moon) lends the month its name. Also, the Sun resides in the Cancer zodiac (Karka Rashi) during Shravan, making Shiva worship particularly fruitful.
Devotees from all zodiac signs are encouraged to engage in sincere worship during this period to gain divine blessings, peace, and prosperity.
