Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra Seek Blessings from Premanand Ji Maharaj in Vrindavan Amid ₹60 Crore Fraud Allegations
Vrindavan, India: Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra recently visited the ashram of Premanand Ji Maharaj in Vrindavan to seek spiritual guidance and peace of mind. The visit comes at a time when the couple is facing legal troubles over allegations of a ₹60 crore fraud case.
Spiritual Visit to Premanand Ji Maharaj’s Ashram
During their meeting, Shilpa Shetty shared her personal struggles and emotional concerns with Premanand Ji Maharaj, a respected spiritual leader known for his teachings on faith and devotion. In response, Maharaj advised her to chant the name of Radha Rani 10,000 times within 24 hours. He explained that such spiritual discipline would help her achieve inner peace and strength to overcome life’s challenges.
The meeting was marked by moments of deep emotion. Maharaj revealed that both of his kidneys had failed and that he had been living with this condition for the past decade. Despite the severity of his illness, he expressed no fear of death, saying, “When the call from God comes, one must accept it.”
Raj Kundra’s Offer of Kidney Donation
Moved by Maharaj’s revelation, Raj Kundra immediately offered to donate one of his kidneys. However, Maharaj declined the offer with gratitude, saying, “If you remain healthy, that is enough for me.”
Following their visit to the ashram, the couple traveled to the Radha Rani Temple in Barsana. There, they participated in devotional singing (kirtan) and received a warm welcome from temple priest Chandra Goswami.
Expressing her happiness, Shilpa Shetty said:
“This is my first visit to Radha Rani’s dham. I have always wished to come here but never got the opportunity. Now that I am here, I feel deep peace and wish to stay longer.”
₹60 Crore Fraud Allegations
Despite their spiritual retreat, the couple is currently embroiled in a serious legal dispute. Businessman Deepak Kothari has filed an FIR at Juhu Police Station, claiming that between 2015 and 2023, he invested ₹60.48 crore in one of their companies for business expansion. According to Kothari, instead of using the funds for business purposes, the money was allegedly diverted for personal use.
Since the alleged fraud amount exceeds ₹10 crore, the case has been transferred to the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) for further investigation.
Legal Defence from Raj Kundra’s Team
Raj Kundra’s lawyer, Prashant Patil, has strongly denied all allegations, calling them “false, baseless, and malicious.” He explained that the funds in question were equity investments in a company that was already under a liquidation order.
Patil further stated that the complaint appears to be an attempt to damage the couple’s public image and reiterated that no fraudulent activity had taken place.
Faith in Difficult Times
Shilpa Shetty has often spoken about the importance of faith during life’s challenges. This visit to Vrindavan reflects her belief in seeking divine strength in times of uncertainty.
Premanand Ji Maharaj’s advice to focus on devotion rather than material gain has resonated widely on social media, with followers praising his humility and acceptance of God’s will.
