Early Life and Career
Shibani Dandekar was born into a Maharashtrian family to Sulabha and Shahdhar Dandekar. She has two sisters, Apeksha and Anusha Dandekar. Along with her sisters, Shibani has formed a music band to which they have named as D-major. Also read about, Kanika Mann, Anjali Pichai.
She was born in Pune but grew in London. Most of her childhood days were spent in Australia, Africa, and London. It was in 2001, she shifted to New York and began her career. Shibani has hosted several television shows including Asian Variety Show, V desi, and Namaste America. As a host, she also introduced several Bollywood biggies to American people and also hosted a show An Evening with Shahrukh Khan in Atlantic City. Her parents live in Australia, but Shibani and her sister’s lives in India.
She is also a dancer and participated in dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Ja. Unfortunately, she got evicted early from the show. After she returned to India, Shibani continued working as a host and also tried her luck in modeling. She has been the host for popular events organized by Puma, Horlicks, MTV Coke Studio, Toyota, and more. She has also anchored lifestyle shows Men 2.0 on AXN and India’s Glam Diva.
