Star Indian cricketer Shefali Verma, who played a crucial role in India’s historic victory in the 2025 ODI World Cup Final, has added a luxury electric sports car to her collection. The young batting sensation has purchased the MG Cyberster, priced at ₹75 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). She chose the stunning ‘Andes Grey’ shade paired with a striking red convertible soft-top roof. The MG Cyberster holds the title of India’s first electric sports car and has been designed to offer both performance and style. According to the company, the electric roadster delivers an impressive real-world performance with the capability to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.2 seconds, making it one of the fastest cars in its segment. The Cyberster also offers up to 520 km of range on a full charge, making it practical for long drives as well. A unique delivery event was organised by MG India to hand over the car to Shefali. Unlike traditional showroom deliveries, the company arranged the ceremony directly on a cricket ground. Videos released by MG India on social media show Shefali walking on a red carpet, cutting the ribbon, and exploring the car’s interiors with excitement. The Cyberster’s interior has been crafted with inspiration from fighter-jet cockpits. It features a three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel and a large curved digital display that merges the instrument cluster and infotainment system seamlessly. The centre console hosts large gear-selector buttons placed next to the vertical display, while touch-sensitive climate control switches are positioned slightly angled towards the driver for easier reach. The car includes Y-shaped sports seats that are six-way electrically adjustable and come with heating and memory functions. Premium leather combined with suede materials adds to the luxury feel. MG has equipped the car with butterfly doors and separate buttons for operating the folding roof, enhancing the overall sporty experience. Shefali’s Cyberster features an interior theme available in burgundy or red, paired with a black roof and pillars for contrast. Although the cabin is premium, storage space is limited, which may restrict its practicality for everyday utility. The MG Cyberster is powered by dual electric motors placed on both axles, enabling an all-wheel-drive setup. Together, the motors generate 510 PS of power and 725 Nm of peak torque, delivering rapid acceleration and strong road grip. The company claims that the Cyberster can reach a top speed of 200 kmph, making it suitable for enthusiastic performance seekers. The electric roadster is equipped with a 77 kWh battery pack which, as per company figures, delivers up to 580 km of driving range on a full charge. However, actual range may vary based on driving habits, road conditions, and weather. Shefali’s choice of the MG Cyberster has generated excitement among fans and automobile enthusiasts. Her new purchase highlights the growing acceptance of performance-oriented EVs in India. With its cutting-edge design, technology-packed cabin, and thrilling performance, the Cyberster is expected to stand out prominently on Indian roads.
