Shah Rukh Khan Wins First National Award for Jawan, Shares Emotional Message
Mumbai, August 1: Superstar Shah Rukh Khan has won his first National Award for Best Actor for his performance in Jawan. Expressing his joy, Shah Rukh called it an “invaluable achievement” and thanked his directors, team, family, and fans for their support.
In an Instagram video, with his hand in a cast, Shah Rukh said he was filled with “gratitude, pride, and humility” and would cherish this moment for life. He extended special thanks to Rajkumar Hirani, Siddharth Anand, and Jawan director Atlee, saying the award belonged to them as well.
Shah Rukh also praised his team for their hard work and his family for their unwavering support despite his long work schedules. Calling the award a reminder of his responsibility, he said it motivates him to keep creating and serving cinema.
Addressing his fans, he added: “Every award I get is for you. Keep the popcorn ready I’ll be back in theatres soon.”
About the Awards: Instituted in 1954, the National Film Awards honour excellence in Indian cinema. This year, Vash won Best Gujarati Film, Rongatapu Best Assamese Film, GV Prakash Kumar Best Music Direction (Vaathi), and Bhagavanth Kesari Best Telugu Film, among others.
