Bangkok, Thailand — April 1, 2025 Search and rescue operations are still underway in Bangkok after the earthquake that struck Myanmar on March 28. As of Tuesday morning, 74 people remain missing in a collapsed building in the Thai capital. With the chances of finding survivors decreasing after 72 hours, teams continue their efforts, using search dogs to detect any signs of life in the rubble.

The earthquake has caused significant damage, with 20 confirmed deaths in Thailand, including 13 at the collapse site. Despite the ongoing search, many families are beginning to accept the grim reality that their loved ones may not be found alive.

In an effort to provide emotional support, officials from the K-9 Unit and Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) have brought the search dogs to meet with the victims’ families. The presence of the dogs is seen as a source of comfort during this difficult time.

Myanmar has reported nearly 2,000 deaths, and the destruction continues to impact both nations. With the search ongoing, rescue teams remain hopeful that more survivors can be found, while the community unites to support the affected families.
