Lonavala, July 18, 2025: A major theft occurred at actress Sangeeta Bijlani’s farmhouse near Pavana Dam on the morning of July 18. Unknown miscreants not only looted valuable items from the farmhouse but also smashed all CCTV cameras installed around the premises, suggesting a pre-planned and well-executed robbery.
According to Lonavala Rural Police, the burglars broke the main entrance, vandalized the interior, and stole several expensive belongings, including a television and personal items. The farmhouse appeared completely ransacked with broken beds, damaged furniture, and a destroyed refrigerator. Signs of smoke damage were found on the upper floor, indicating further malicious activity.
Sangeeta, who had been away from the farmhouse for over four months due to her father’s ill health, was not present during the incident. She discovered the theft upon arriving at the property around 11:30 AM on July 18 with two domestic staff members.
Following the discovery, she immediately lodged a written complaint at Pune Rural Police Station. SP Sandeep Gill confirmed that the matter is being investigated, and a police and forensic team has been dispatched to the site for detailed inspection.
All the CCTV cameras installed at the farmhouse entrance and surrounding areas were found intentionally destroyed, which reinforces suspicions that the robbery was strategically planned. Lonavala Rural Police in-charge Dinesh Tayde stated that an FIR will be registered after the panchanama (site report) is completed, and further investigation is underway.
