PM Kisan 20th Installment to Be Released on August 2: Over 9 Crore Farmers to Receive ₹2,000 Each; Announcement from Varanasi by PM Modi
New Delhi, July 29, 2025: The Government of India will release the 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojana on August 2 at 11 AM, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to announce the release from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, according to the official X (formerly Twitter) account of PM-Kisan.
Under this installment, over 9 crore farmers across the country will receive ₹2,000 each directly in their bank accounts. The previous installment the 19th was disbursed in February 2025, transferring ₹22,000 crore to 9.8 crore farmers.
₹6,000 Annually in Three Installments
Launched in 2019, the PM-KISAN scheme provides ₹6,000 per year to small and marginal farmers in three equal installments of ₹2,000 every four months. The financial assistance is directly credited to the beneficiary’s bank account, ensuring transparency and speed.
Initial Scope and Later Expansion
Initially, the scheme covered only small and marginal farmers owning up to 2 hectares of land. However, in June 2019, the eligibility criteria were expanded to include all farmer families, increasing the scheme’s coverage significantly.
