PM Modi to Address Mega Rally in Ahmedabad’s Nikol on August 25; Preparations in Full Swing
Ahmedabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Gujarat for two days at the end of August. On August 25 at 4:30 PM, he will address a public gathering at Khodaldham Ground in Nikol, Ahmedabad, where nearly one lakh people are expected to attend.
Massive Waterproof Dome Under Construction
To counter the possibility of rain, authorities have begun constructing a huge German waterproof dome at the venue. Initially, the rally was planned at the ground opposite Nikol D-Mart, but due to muddy conditions and poor feasibility during rains, the location was shifted to Khodaldham Ground, which is larger and closer to the Ring Road.
Security and Arrangements in Place
Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and the state government have started large-scale preparations. Parking facilities are being arranged on two adjacent plots near the venue. Meanwhile, city police have also begun planning security measures for the Prime Minister’s visit.
The BJP city unit is actively preparing for the rally. Ahmedabad BJP leaders, including MLAs and corporators from Naroda, Nikol, Thakkarbapanagar, Vatva, and Bapunagar constituencies, have been instructed to mobilize maximum participation and ensure smooth execution.
1,000+ Banners to Welcome PM Modi
Over 1,000 banners will be placed across Nikol and Naroda to welcome the Prime Minister. BJP workers are also conducting meetings in housing societies and flats to encourage residents to attend. The party’s youth wing has begun preparations to mobilize crowds as well.
The rally holds political significance as it comes six months before the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation elections. With public discontent over incomplete and slow civic works in the city’s eastern parts, the BJP aims to pacify voters and strengthen its support base through this mega event.
