PM Modi Three Nation Tour: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday departed from Delhi on a three-nation official tour covering Jordan, Ethiopia, and Oman. The visit aims to strengthen India’s diplomatic, economic, and strategic relations with the three countries.
The tour begins with Jordan, where PM Modi will stay from December 15 to 16 at the invitation of King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein. During the visit, the two leaders will review India–Jordan bilateral relations and discuss important regional developments. The visit is special as it marks 75 years of diplomatic relations between India and Jordan. PM Modi will also interact with the Indian community living in Jordan.
In the second leg, the Prime Minister will travel to Ethiopia from December 16 to 17, marking his first-ever visit to the country. He will hold detailed talks with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali on strengthening bilateral ties. Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, is also the headquarters of the African Union. PM Modi will address a joint session of the Ethiopian Parliament and meet members of the Indian diaspora. The visit highlights India’s commitment to the Global South.
The final leg of the tour will be to Oman from December 17 to 18, at the invitation of Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. This will be PM Modi’s second visit to Oman. He will discuss ways to strengthen the India–Oman Strategic Partnership, especially in areas like trade, energy, investment, defence, and technology. He will also address the Indian community in Oman.
The Ministry of External Affairs said the tour will further deepen India’s ties with all three nations and enhance cooperation on regional and global issues.
