The prime minister, Narendra Modi, led the Shaurya Yatra at the Somnath temple in Gujarat’s Gir Somnath district to pay homage to those warriors who laid down their lives for the protection of the historic shrine. The ceremonial procession was held with all grand arrangements and strong public participation.

Thousands of devotees came to the temple complex, who braved the cold night. Be it lights, drone shows, or beginning with devotional music and cultural performances, the whole setting inside the premises had a deeply spiritual atmosphere.

A procession called Shaurya Yatra was organized, paying obeisance to the brave efforts and sacrifices of all those who, through history, protected the Somnath temple. PM Modi joined the procession and mingled with the devotees, showcasing the cultural and historical significance of the temple.

The huge turnout reflected deep public faith and reverence for Somnath, one of the most sacred pilgrimage destinations in the country. The event showcased Gujarat’s rich traditions and a sense of collective spirit of devotion among people from across the country.
