PM Modi in Gaya: Vows to Expel Infiltrators, Accuses Congress-RJD of Supporting Them, Inaugurates Projects Worth ₹13,000 Crore in Bihar
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Gaya on Friday, launched development projects worth over ₹13,000 crore for Bihar and delivered a strong political message targeting the opposition. Addressing a large gathering at the Magadh University campus, the Prime Minister spoke for 34 minutes, combining government achievements with sharp criticism of the Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).
Emphasizing the issue of national security and illegal migration, Modi declared, “We will drive infiltrators out of the country. We will not allow them to snatch away your rights. Congress and RJD are standing shoulder-to-shoulder with infiltrators.” His remarks were met with loud applause from the crowd, highlighting the political pitch as the state gears up for the upcoming elections.
Modi also drew a contrast between past governance in Bihar and the changes under his administration. “Earlier, people sitting in jail used to sign files. We have introduced a law that applies to everyone, even the Prime Minister. The moment someone is arrested, their position is automatically lost. This is a new era of accountability,” he said, reiterating his government’s focus on anti-corruption measures.
The Prime Minister recalled the situation in Bihar during previous regimes, pointing out how insecurity and lawlessness once dominated the state. “Not so long ago, it was difficult to travel in Bihar after sunset. Cities like Gaya remained in darkness during the days of lantern rule. There was no education, no employment, and generations were forced to migrate because of misrule,” Modi said.
Later in the day, Modi traveled to Begusarai, where he inaugurated the newly constructed six-lane Aentha-Simaraiya bridge over the Ganga River, an important infrastructure project expected to improve connectivity and boost economic activity in the region.
Continuing his attack on the opposition, Modi said, “Those who have sinned may try to hide their misdeeds from others, but they know what they have done. Some are out on bail, while others are making rounds of courts over railway scams. These people are opposing the law itself. They misuse my name in various ways, but people know the truth. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar could never have imagined that power-hungry leaders would drown themselves in corruption and cling to chairs at any cost. Now, the corrupt will go to jail, and they will lose their positions of power.”
The Prime Minister also touched upon his vision of governance, stating that being a public servant is his greatest joy. “I find true happiness in serving the people. My resolve is that I will not rest until every citizen has a permanent house. Over the last 11 years, more than 4 crore permanent houses have been provided to the poor across the country. In Bihar alone, over 38 lakh houses have been built, with Gaya receiving more than 2 lakh homes. These are not just walls of bricks and cement; they are a matter of dignity. Along with houses, we have ensured electricity, water supply, gas connections, and other basic amenities for the poor,” Modi said, underlining his government’s welfare initiatives.
Adding a cultural touch to the event, a unique tribute came from Bihar’s sand artist Madhurendra, who created a miniature artwork of Prime Minister Modi paying respects to Lord Buddha on a 3 cm green pipal leaf. According to the artist, this is the smallest pipal leaf in the world with such detailed work, inscribed with the words: “Welcome Modi Ji to Gaya.” The artwork was presented as a token of respect and pride for the Prime Minister’s visit.
The two-day tour is seen as a significant political and developmental milestone, not only because of the high-value projects inaugurated but also because of the tone of Modi’s address. His emphasis on nationalism, development, and anti-corruption reflects the central themes of the BJP’s campaign in Bihar. By targeting Congress and RJD for their alleged support of infiltrators and highlighting the contrast between past misrule and current development, Modi sought to position his government as the guardian of both security and progress.
With thousands of supporters gathered in Gaya and Begusarai, the visit served as both a developmental outreach and a political statement, signaling that Bihar will be a critical battleground in the upcoming elections.
