New Delhi [India], April 9: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday participated in the Navkar Mahamantra Divas celebrations held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi, and reflected on the deep spiritual essence of the revered Jain chant — the Navkar Mahamantra.
Addressing the gathering, PM Modi described the mantra as a “centre of faith” and a guiding spiritual force that not only brings personal peace but also connects the individual to the broader fabric of society. He praised Jainism for its timeless teachings on non-violence, truth, and universal harmony.
“The Navkar Mahamantra is not just a prayer; it’s a powerful expression of humility and reverence toward enlightened souls. It inspires self-discipline, compassion, and ethical living,” said the Prime Minister.
He acknowledged the vital role the Jain community plays in nation-building, especially through their contributions in education, healthcare, and charity. PM Modi also emphasized that India’s strength lies in its spiritual diversity, where every tradition, like Jainism, adds to the country’s collective moral compass.
The event witnessed the presence of eminent Jain saints, scholars, and devotees from across the nation, all united in their chanting of the Navkar Mahamantra.
In his concluding remarks, PM Modi expressed confidence that spiritual events like these reinforce India’s identity as a land of peace and reflection, inspiring generations to lead lives grounded in values and service.
