Office Bearers of Chamber of Commerce Meet Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) Delegates to Explore Export Opportunities

Surat (Gujarat) [India]: The President of The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Vijay Mevawala, along with Vice President Mr. Nikhil Madrasi, Immediate Past President Mr. Ramesh Vaghasia, Honorary Secretary Mr. Nirav Mandlewala, and Honorary Treasurer Mr. Mrunal Shukla, held a meeting with leading exporters under the aegis of the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB).

During the event, Mr. Vijay Mevawala delivered a keynote address, emphasizing, “India is contributing significantly across various sectors globally and holds immense export potential. The prioritization of startups in India has opened new avenues for exporters. As one of the fastest-growing economies, India presents vast opportunities in trade and industry.”

Vice President Mr. Nikhil Madrasi elaborated on the opportunities available in India for Sri Lankan exporters and gathered insights into sectors that could assist Indian exporters.

Immediate Past President Mr. Ramesh Vaghasia highlighted how global interconnectivity among countries could pave the way for further developmental collaboration.

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of EDB, Mr. Mangala Yapa Wijesinghe, appreciated the meeting and shared detailed insights into Sri Lanka’s vibrant business landscape. He stressed enhancing bilateral trade between India and Sri Lanka, particularly in the export sector.

The meeting focused on identifying trade opportunities, fostering business collaboration, and recognizing key sectors that could drive economic growth for both nations. This interaction marked a significant step towards strengthening economic ties and expanding trade partnerships between India and Sri Lanka.

Honorary Secretary Mr. Nirav Mandlewala explored export and investment opportunities in Sri Lanka for young entrepreneurs, while Honorary Treasurer Mr. Mrunal Shukla concluded the meeting with a vote of thanks, signifying its closure.
