Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has released a video message ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, saying that he has served the people of Bihar with honesty and hard work since 2005.
In the three-minute video, the JD(U) leader said that when he first became chief minister in 2005, “being a Bihari was considered an insult.” He added that his government worked day and night to change that image and improve the state.
“My dear brothers and sisters of Bihar, you have given me the opportunity to serve you since 2005. The condition of Bihar then was very poor. Since that time, we have served you sincerely with honesty and hard work,” Kumar said.
Nitish Kumar, whose party JD(U) is part of the BJP-led NDA alliance, highlighted several achievements of his government. He said that major progress had been made in education, healthcare, roads, electricity, drinking water, agriculture, and job opportunities for youth.
He also mentioned the government’s work for women’s empowerment. “The previous government did nothing for women. We made women so strong that they are now independent and can take care of their families and children themselves,” he said.
Kumar ended his message by saying that his goal has always been to work for the people of Bihar — not for his family — and that development for all sections of society will continue.
