Ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly elections, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has made a significant announcement, declaring that all toll booths in Mumbai will now be toll-free for light motor vehicles. During a cabinet meeting, Shinde announced that no toll will be collected from vehicles entering the city at the five major toll booths. This decision will be implemented starting tonight, October 14.
The toll-free exemption will apply to vehicles at the Vashi, Mulund, Airoli, Dahisar, and Anandnagar toll booths. Light vehicles such as cars, taxis, jeeps, small trucks, and delivery vans will be exempt from paying any toll from tonight onwards.
