Mandvi: A meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Kunvarji Halpati, State Minister for Tribal Development and Labor Employment, at the office of the Mandvi taluka’s project administrator. The discussion focused on the planning of development works for the year 2024-2025 under the New Gujarat Pattern Scheme.
During the meeting, a total of ₹8.05 crores was allocated for various developmental works aimed at uplifting the tribal community in Mandvi. These works encompass 20 departments, including agriculture, animal husbandry, irrigation, dairy, health, education, electricity, rural development, employment, and nutrition.
Among the various provisions made for the year 2024-2025, the most significant allocation is for general education, amounting to ₹154.21 crores. This fund will support the construction of school facilities, including classrooms, borewells, motors with mini tanks, sanitation, paving blocks, and sandling nets. For small-scale irrigation, ₹118.26 crores is earmarked for borewells, lift irrigation, and community well projects.
Additionally, an investment of ₹71.03 lakhs is planned for agricultural schemes, while ₹111.30 lakhs will go towards road and bridge construction. Other allocations include ₹42.09 lakhs for rural development and ₹68.87 lakhs for the welfare of backward classes, along with plans for various other schemes.
During the event, the minister instructed all department officials to prioritize needy individuals, ensuring that the benefits of the schemes reach as many people as possible in an equitable manner. He also emphasized the distribution of nagali biscuits as part of the midday meal scheme and the enhancement of primary health facilities with modern digital X-ray and laboratory equipment.
Furthermore, the minister urged the relevant authorities to ensure timely execution of development works and to prepare progress reports.
Present at the meeting were the Taluka Panchayat President, project administrator Nidhi Sivach, Mamlatdar Francis Vasava, Taluka Development Officer R.L. Solanki, Range Forest Officers R.P. Vaghela and H.J. Vanda, District Panchayat member Rohit Patel, and various other officials and community leaders.
