Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has become the world’s second-richest person, overtaking Amazon’s Jeff Bezos and LVMH’s Bernard Arnault. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Zuckerberg’s net worth has now reached $211 billion (₹17.73 lakh crore).

Elon Musk Remains the Richest

Tesla CEO Elon Musk remains the world’s richest person with a net worth of $263 billion (₹22.09 lakh crore). Jeff Bezos follows in third place with $209 billion (₹17.56 lakh crore), and Bernard Arnault ranks fourth with $193 billion (₹16.21 lakh crore).

Zuckerberg’s Wealth Grows in 2024

In 2024 alone, Zuckerberg’s net worth has increased by $78.1 billion (₹6.5 lakh crore). This surge has placed him in the exclusive $200 billion net worth club, where Musk and Bezos were already members. Arnault, however, has dropped out of this club due to a decline in his wealth.

Meta Shares Surge by 72%

A major contributor to Zuckerberg’s wealth is the performance of Meta Platforms. In 2024, Meta’s shares have surged by over 72%, with the company’s stock reaching a record high of $595.94. Meta owns leading social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and WhatsApp.

Meta’s Growth Prospects

At the Meta Connect 2024 event on September 25, Zuckerberg, now 40, stated that Meta-AI is on its way to becoming the most widely used digital assistant globally. He mentioned that the service is close to reaching 500 million active users and is expected to expand further in major markets like the European Union.
