Malayalam Actor Mohan Raj Passes Away at 70, Known for Iconic Villain Roles

Veteran actor Mohan Raj, popularly known by his stage name ‘Kireedam Jose,’ passed away on October 3rd at the age of 70. His death has left a significant void in South Indian cinema. He was renowned for his work in Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu films. His final rites will be held in Kerala on Friday, October 4th.

Rose to Fame with Villain Roles

Mohan Raj had been suffering from Parkinson’s disease and diabetes for quite some time. He was undergoing Ayurvedic treatment in Thiruvananthapuram. With a career spanning more than three decades, he acted in over 300 films, earning special recognition for his villainous roles. He is still remembered for his performances in movies like Uppukandam Brothers, Chenkol, Aaram Thampuran, and Narasimham. Known for his powerful voice and expressions, he was frequently cast as a villain in South Indian films, and he excelled in those roles.
