Ahmedabad: India’s electronics exports are poised to exceed ₹3 lakh crore for the first time in the financial year 2025. While the final figures are yet to be released, data from April to February strongly indicates that the sector is on track to achieve a record milestone. During this 11-month period, electronics exports reached ₹2.87 lakh crore, reflecting a 35% increase from ₹2.11 lakh crore in the same period of the previous financial year.

This surge in exports comes at a time when overall merchandise exports have remained stable, highlighting the success of various schemes and initiatives introduced by the Ministry of Electronics and IT in recent years.

Smartphones have been the largest driver of electronics export growth. In FY 2024, smartphone exports worth ₹1.3 lakh crore accounted for approximately 54% of total electronics exports, which stood at ₹2.41 lakh crore. In the first 11 months of FY 2025, smartphone exports worth ₹1.75 lakh crore have contributed 60% to total electronics exports.

Among companies, Apple has played a significant role, with iPhone exports reaching ₹1.25 lakh crore in the first 11 months of FY 2025. This represents 43% of total electronics exports and 70% of total smartphone exports. The final export figures, expected at the end of March, are anticipated to show further growth.
