U19 2nd ODI: India U-19 scored an emphatic eight-wicket victory over theSouth Africa U-19 team in the second Youth ODI on Monday to give their team an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the series. This match was also disrupted due to the inclement weather conditions, just like the first match, and was decided on the DLS system.

The Indian captain, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, played a sensational innings, scoring 68 runs off just 24 balls. His innings consisted of 10 sixes and 1 four, thereby thoroughly turning the match in the Indian team’s favour. The innings played by the Indian captain made the pursuit of the target very easy for the Indian team.

The match was held back a number of times owing to lightning, and their target was changed to 174 in 27 overs. Later, India had reached 115 for 2 in 12.5 overs when play was halted once again. The match was temporarily resumed, but it was finally abandoned when India reached 176 for 2 in 23.3 overs, with a win for India.

When the match ended, Vedant Trivedi had remained unbeaten on 31 off 57 balls. Abhigyan Kundu had remained not out on 48 off 42 balls.

Earlier, Jason Rowles scored an exemplary 114 off 117 balls to aid South Africa to register a total of 245 runs, and then get bowled out in 49.3 overs. For India, Kishan Singh took 4 wickets, and RS Ambrish took 2 wickets.

India had also won the first ODI by 25 runs (DLS method), which won them the series.
