India – US Trade: Prime Minister Narendra Modi got huge applause during the NDA parliamentary meeting on Tuesday after India and the United States reached a significant trade agreement.
The news came after a telephonic conversation between PM Modi and US President Donald Trump. US President Donald Trump announced that the US will lower the reciprocal tariffs on Indian exports from 25 percent to 18 percent. This will significantly benefit Indian exporters and will help enhance trade between the two countries.
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, while addressing the BJP Parliamentary Party meeting, appreciated the leadership of PM Modi. He said that India has entered into significant trade agreements with several countries, including the European Union, the UAE, Mauritius, Australia, the UK, New Zealand, and now the United States. Rijiju said that these agreements reflect the rising stature of India in the international community and the faith that other countries have in India.
Prime Minister Modi hailed the agreement and thanked US President Donald Trump for this decision.
PM Modi also highlighted that cooperation between the world’s two largest democracies would support economic growth and benefit people on both sides.
President Trump described the tariff reduction as a gesture of friendship and respect for PM Modi. He expressed confidence that the agreement would further strengthen India-US relations and help both nations achieve shared goals.
The trade deal is being seen as an important step towards deeper economic ties and long-term cooperation between India and the United States.
