IND vs NZ ODI Series: Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has been ruled out of the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand due to injury. Pant suffered a side strain during India’s practice session in Vadodara and will not be available for the series.

According to the BCCI, Pant felt sudden pain in his right abdominal area while batting in the nets at the BCA Stadium. He was immediately taken for an MRI scan, which confirmed an oblique muscle tear. After consulting medical experts, the BCCI Medical Team advised rest, ruling him out of the series.

Pant was the second-choice wicketkeeper in the ODI squad after KL Rahul. His absence does not affect team balance immediately, but the Men’s Selection Committee has named Dhruv Jurel as his replacement. Jurel has already joined the Indian squad.

The injury occurred on an optional practice day, with several senior players present at the session. This is another setback for Pant, who has faced multiple injuries in recent years, including a serious car accident in 2022 and other fitness issues that disrupted his international career.
