Two Public Parks Renovated at a Cost of ₹12 Crore and ₹2.75 Crore Opened to the Public
Surat, (Gujarat) [India]: Union Minister of Water Resources, Shri C.R. Patil, inaugurated the newly renovated Jyotindra Dave Garden in Adajan and the Ravishankar Maharaj (Vyas) Garden in Athwa, in collaboration with Surat Municipal Corporation and the UNS Foundation of Torrent Group. These parks were renovated under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, with ₹12 crore spent on Jyotindra Dave Garden and ₹2.75 crore on Ravishankar Maharaj Garden.
Modern Facilities Added to the Gardens
The renovated gardens now feature powder-coated aesthetic fencing, specially designed turnstile gates to prevent animal entry, and ramps designed for easy access for physically challenged individuals. Other amenities include a large seating plaza and pavilion, a children’s play area with modern equipment, an open gym, well-ventilated washrooms, special washrooms for differently-abled individuals, RO water and coolers, an amphitheater for cultural activities, comfortable benches, borewells and underground tanks for irrigation, soft landscaping, lawns for activities like yoga, and conservation of old trees along with the planting of medicinal plants.

The event saw the presence of notable figures including Member of Parliament Mukesh Dalal, Mayor Dakshesh Mavani, MLAs Purnesh Modi, Sandeep Desai, Manu Patel, Arvind Rana, Deputy Mayor Narendra Patil, Standing Committee Chairman Rajan Patel, Ruling Party Leader Shashiben Tripathi, Municipal Commissioner Shalini Agarwal, and several former mayors and committee chairpersons, along with a large number of local citizens.
