With just about 90 days remaining for the Delhi Assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which has been in power in the capital city for the past two terms, is gearing up to score a hat-trick. Former Chief Minister and AAP’s National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal has been actively conducting padyatras across Delhi. During one of these padyatras, Kejriwal announced a major initiative to deposit Rs 1,000 into women’s accounts.
Election Preparations Underway
On Monday, November 4, Arvind Kejriwal conducted padyatras in the Model Town and Timarpur Assembly constituencies of Delhi. During these visits, he interacted with the public and promised that if his government is re-elected, they would undertake historic work in Delhi. Alongside, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi and other senior AAP leaders have also started preparing to perform well in the upcoming elections.
Kejriwal’s Big Announcement
While addressing the public during the padyatra, Kejriwal said, “I was in jail for six months, during which time LG ruled. If the BJP and LG wanted, they could have done good work for you in these six months, but they did nothing except obstruct your work. Now, don’t worry; I am back. Construction of your roads has started, sewage cleaning is beginning, and where there was dirty water, clean water is now coming. A large number of mothers and sisters have gathered here today. I am arranging to soon deposit Rs 1,000 each into your accounts.”
