Event Held at Kamrej Vatsalyadham School as Part of Child Marriage-Free India Initiative

Surat, (Gujarat) [India]: On November 27, 2024, the Ministry of Women and Child Development inaugurated the “Child Marriage-Free India” initiative at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. This historic event witnessed participation from people across the nation.

As part of this initiative, Pryas JAC Society Surat organized a district-level program in collaboration with district administration, police, District Legal Services Authority, District Child Protection Unit, Child Welfare Committee, and voluntary organizations. The event took place at Kamrej’s Vatsalyadham School.

Awareness programs were conducted by the team in schools, government bodies, and voluntary organizations across Surat city to educate people about preventing child marriages. School students and locals pledged to stop child marriages in their communities during the event.

This initiative is expected to yield positive results in the coming days. With systemic changes in society and strengthened actions by law enforcement agencies, the goal is to eliminate child marriage by 2030.
