Delhi Weather Update: Fog Returns as Temperature Falls to 13°C

Delhi Weather Update: Residents of Delhi woke up to a chilly and foggy morning on Saturday, March 21, 2026, as the minimum temperature dropped significantly to 13°C, which is around 3.5 degrees below normal for this time of the year.

The sudden dip in temperature comes just a day after the city recorded a minimum temperature of 16°C on March 20, showing a noticeable fall within 24 hours. Along with the drop in temperature, a light layer of fog covered several parts of the city, reducing visibility during the early morning hours.

According to weather observations, cool winds also swept across Delhi, adding to the chill and making the weather feel colder than usual. Such conditions are slightly uncommon for late March, when temperatures usually begin to rise steadily as summer approaches.

Despite the foggy conditions, the air quality in Delhi remained relatively stable. The Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 94 at 8 a.m., which falls under the “satisfactory” category. This means that while air pollution is present, it is not severe enough to cause major health concerns for most people.

Weather experts believe that this sudden change could be due to shifting wind patterns and western disturbances affecting North India. However, temperatures are expected to rise gradually in the coming days.

For now, Delhi residents are experiencing a brief return of cool weather before the summer heat fully sets in.
