Delhi Temperature: It was a very chilly morning in the capital as the minimum temperatures recorded a significant drop to 4.6 degrees Celsius in Delhi. It is the coldest morning in the ongoing winter season. Light showers in some areas of the capital added to the effect.
Data related to weather shows a minimum SAFDARJUNG temperature of 4.6 °C, hence below average by a difference of 2.3 °C. The minimum temperatures recorded were 5.0 °C in PALAM, and in LODHI ROAD and RIDGE, the temperature touched a minimum of 5.2 °C and 5.4 °C, respectively. Among the coldest sites, AYANANGAR measured a minimum of 4.8 °C.
These rainfall observations indicated a trace rainfall condition at Safdarjung and Lodhi Road, and 0.8 mm of rainfall occurred at Ayanagar. No rainfall was observed at Palam and the Ridge locations. The Regional Weather Forecasting Center has announced a light drizzle condition in various parts of Delhi, which include Akshardham, R K Puram, Defence Colony, Lajpat Nagar, Tughlakabad, IGNOU, Ayanagar, and its surroundings.
The India Meteorological Department said cold conditions were likely to persist over parts of north and northwest India, including Delhi-NCR, during the next few days. Full cold wave conditions have not been declared yet, officials clarified.
A maximum temperature of around 17 degrees Celsius is foreseen for the city.
Meanwhile, Delhi’s air quality remained in the ‘very poor’ category, as the AQI stood at 325 against the satisfactory level, thus raising health concerns for the residents of Delhi.
