Surat: A ‘Coffee with Collector’ program was organized at the Surat Collector’s office under the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ initiative, led by the Office of Women and Child Officer, Surat, and chaired by District Collector Dr. Saurabh Pardhi. During this event, the top 10 girl students from government schools in Surat district, who excelled in the 10th and 12th grades, were honored with certificates and a cash award of Rs. 5,000.
The Collector congratulated the outstanding students and encouraged them to pursue higher education. He advised the girls to focus on acquiring practical knowledge and skills in addition to academic learning to move forward in life.
Dr. Pardhi emphasized that in today’s competitive world, success is not solely determined by marks but also by skills and the right approach. District Education Officer Bhagirathsingh Parmar spoke about the importance of educated women for a progressive society, motivating the girls and their parents to aim for higher studies and advocating for women’s empowerment through education.
The event saw the presence of Women and Child Officer Radhika Gamit, Secretary of District Legal Services Authority C.R. Modi, Dowry Prohibition Officers P.V. Lakhum and D.P. Vasava, along with other officials and staff from the Women and Child Officer’s office. A large number of students, teachers, and parents also attended.
