Surat: A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Central Water Power Minister C.R. Patil to review the works related to National Highways, roads, and bridges in the district. The Minister of State for Forest and Environment Mukeshbhai Patel and MLA Sandip Desai were also present at the meeting.
During the meeting, the central minister urged the officials to expedite the construction of the road leading to the PM Mitra Park. He also discussed the installation of signboards in Hindi and Gujarati along the National Highway. Considering the continuous traffic at Hazira Chowk, he directed discussions with Highway officials and the Road and Building Department to find appropriate solutions. The Highway Authority was instructed to expedite development work at Kavasa Chowk.
Additionally, the Highway officials were notified about beautifying the area beneath the bridge at Hazira Chowk. They stated that the construction of bridges at Budhiya and Gabheni will be completed by November and December. The officials were also advised to initiate the construction work on the Surat-Navasari State Highway promptly. Due to heavy vehicles parking around the highway from Ichhapor to Hazira, which causes traffic problems, discussions were held on creating necessary parking facilities.
Present at the meeting were District Development Officer Shiwani Goyal, Resident Additional Collector Vijay Rabari, Chief Executive Officer of Sudana K.S. Vasava, Highway officials, and officers from the Roads and Building department and Hazira notified area.
