A major security alert was triggered on Friday when two prominent schools in Surat GD Goenka School in Vesu and Lancer Army School in Piplod received a bomb threat via email. The threatening email warned of an explosion, prompting authorities to immediately evacuate students from GD Goenka School as a precautionary measure.

Upon receiving the threat, local police, including the Vesu PI and ACP, rushed to the scene along with bomb squad and dog squad teams to conduct a thorough search of the premises.

Further investigations revealed that a total of 159 schools across various cities in India had received similar threatening emails from the same email address: Outjacked50.@gmail.com, which was sent around 12:59 AM. Surat police confirmed that two of the targeted institutions are located in Surat.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Vijay Singh Gurjar confirmed that these threats were not isolated, but part of a larger chain of mass email threats to schools nationwide.

The schools were swiftly vacated, and the bomb squad carried out detailed inspections to ensure safety. Meanwhile, the Cyber Cell has begun tracking the origin and digital footprint of the threatening email in an attempt to trace the sender and assess whether the threat is credible or a hoax.

Authorities are treating the matter with utmost seriousness and have heightened surveillance and security around schools in the city.
