After using the new Asus Vivobook 14 Flip as my daily laptop for a couple of weeks, I can confidently say it’s a device that simply delivers. It doesn’t try to be overly flashy or chase extreme performance, but it provides a well-balanced experience. While it’s not the most affordable option, its value feels justified given what it offers. Here’s my experience with it.
Design and Build: Practical and Thoughtful
From the moment I unboxed the Vivobook 14 Flip, it felt sturdy and well-built. Weighing around 1.5kg, it’s lightweight and easy to carry. As someone who moves frequently between workspaces, I appreciated how effortless it was to transport. The matte grey aluminum chassis lends a clean, minimalist aesthetic while enhancing durability.
One of the standout features is the 360-degree hinge. It’s smooth and solid, allowing for seamless transitions between laptop, tablet, and tent modes without wobbling. The screen auto-rotates accordingly, enhancing the overall user experience.

With a 1920 x 1200 resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio, the display offers vibrant colors, deep blacks, and impressive contrast. Whether for work or entertainment, it delivers an outstanding visual experience. Its peak brightness of 600 nits ensures usability even in outdoor settings, such as a café.
The touchscreen is highly responsive, but I tend to avoid using my fingers due to smudging. Fortunately, Asus includes the Pen 2.0 stylus, a great addition for those who enjoy sketching or taking notes.
Performance: Handles Everyday Tasks with Ease
The model I tested came equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor and 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM. Performance was smooth and reliable, even with multiple tasks running simultaneously.
I typically keep at least 15 Chrome tabs open, which often slows down my office-issued laptop when unplugged. However, the Vivobook 14 Flip managed this workload effortlessly without any stuttering, even on battery power. I also performed light video editing in Premiere Pro, which it handled without issues.
Although not a gaming laptop, it can manage light gaming at low to medium settings. Despite demanding tasks, the internal thermal system kept temperatures well under control.
AI Features: Nice to Have, But Not Essential
As a Copilot+ branded AI PC, the Asus Vivobook 14 Flip includes a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) capable of delivering up to 47 TOPS of AI performance. While the AI-powered features, such as background blur and eye contact correction for video calls, are useful, they don’t feel essential. I never found myself missing them when switching to other Windows or Apple devices.
Battery and Charging: Reliable for a Full Workday
Battery life is another strong suit. With my screen set at about 75% brightness throughout the day, involving web browsing, typing, and video consumption, the laptop lasted about 1.5 days on a single charge. I even took it on a weekend trip without bringing the charger, and it lasted the entire time.
Another advantage is its support for 65W USB-C fast charging, meaning you can use any PD fast charger if needed, aside from the included adapter.
Keyboard and Touchpad: Comfortable and Responsive
The keyboard was a highlight for me. Asus’s ErgoSense design provides 1.7mm key travel, with slightly curved keys that match the shape of fingertips, making typing natural and comfortable even during long writing sessions.
The touchpad was equally impressive—smooth, responsive, and featuring gesture controls for brightness and volume adjustments, which I found surprisingly useful. It’s one of those small features that enhance everyday usability.
Should You Buy the Asus Vivobook 14 Flip?
After extensively using the Asus Vivobook 14 Flip, I can confidently recommend it. The OLED display is stunning, performance is solid for everyday tasks, and battery life is exceptional. While the AI features are more of a bonus than a necessity, the overall experience is polished and seamless. This laptop is ideal for students and professionals looking for a capable and reliable 2-in-1 device. However, if you need a gaming machine or heavy-duty power, this may not be the best choice.
