While Pushpa 2 continues to dominate theaters, actor Allu Arjun, recently released on bail, faces mounting challenges. On December 4, during the premiere show of Pushpa 2 at Sandhya Theater in Hyderabad, a stampede broke out, leaving an eight-year-old boy critically injured. The child’s condition has worsened instead of improving, and he is currently on ventilator support. According to a health bulletin issued by KIMS Cuddles Hospital on Tuesday, the boy, named Tej, has shown no improvement in his neurological state and remains in the ICU.
Tej on Ventilator Support
Doctors revealed that the child is on mechanical ventilation with minimal oxygen and pressure support. Additionally, the hospital is considering a tracheostomy procedure, where a pipe will be inserted into the windpipe to aid breathing. In a statement, the hospital mentioned, “His fever is gradually decreasing, and his life-support parameters remain stable with minimal inotropes. Currently, he is taking adequate nutrition.”
Breathing Difficulties Persist
The hospital’s statement also mentioned that Tej was admitted on December 4 due to low oxygen levels and difficulty breathing. On December 10, his oxygen support was removed, but he had to be re-intubated on December 12 due to respiratory distress.
Hyderabad City Police Commissioner C.V. Anand, after visiting the hospital, stated that Tej suffered brain damage due to a lack of oxygen, and his recovery will take significant time.
Stampede at Sandhya Theater
The stampede occurred during the premiere show of Pushpa 2 at Sandhya Theater, where actor Allu Arjun was present. A massive crowd gathered to see the actor, resulting in chaos at the venue. The incident led to the death of a 35-year-old woman, Mogudampalli Revathi, while her eight-year-old son, Tej, was severely injured. Police performed CPR on the child and rushed him to the hospital, where he remains under treatment.
Last week, Allu Arjun was arrested in connection with this incident but was granted interim bail by the Telangana High Court and released from jail within a day. Police have filed charges against the theater management, Allu Arjun, and his team under allegations of culpable homicide.
