Surat, (Gujarat) [India]: The 108 Emergency Service has been saving lives in Gujarat for the past 17 years, having saved millions of lives during this period. Following its success, a joint initiative by EMRI Green Health Services and Gujcell launched air ambulance services. So far, 52 patients have been airlifted during emergencies and transported to hospitals.
Today, a remarkable case occurred when 76-year-old Sunilaben Arvindbhai Shah, a resident of Surat, suffered a brain stroke while visiting Haridwar. She was initially taken to the Himalaya Hospital in Dehradun for primary treatment. Later, around 2:45 PM, she was airlifted from Dehradun and brought to Surat Airport. From there, Surat 108 Emergency Service transferred her to Maitrey Hospital in Surat.
Through the efficient collaboration between 108 Emergency Service and the air ambulance, another life was saved. The successful coordination of this airlift was managed by Roshan Desai, Supervisor of Surat District’s 108 Emergency Service, along with his team.
