Adani Group and Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer have announced a strategic partnership for the assembly of aircraft in India. The objective of this partnership is to establish a regional aircraft assembly facility in the country. India is one of the fastest-growing aviation markets globally, and this partnership will help enhance connectivity to Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities through regional aircraft.

The two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Civil Aviation Ministry in New Delhi. As per the agreement, a Final Assembly Line (FAL) for Embraer’s regional aircraft will be set up in India. Embraer produces commercial aircraft with a seating capacity of up to 150 passengers. However, the investment details and the location of the facility have not been disclosed yet.

According to officials, this collaboration is not only about aircraft assembly but also about technology transfer, building capabilities, and ensuring that the local supply chain is robust. This will help India emerge as a credible global destination for aircraft manufacturing. With this partnership, the Adani Group is entering a new area of aircraft manufacturing.

Embraer already has about 50 aircraft in operation in India. The company feels that India will require 500 regional aircraft over the next 20 years.
