PM-KISAN 20th Installment Released: ₹21,000 Crore Transferred to 9.7 Crore Farmers

Varanasi, August 2: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today released the 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, transferring ₹20,840 crore directly into the bank accounts of 9.7 crore farmers across the country. The announcement was made from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.

Earlier, on February 24, the 19th installment of the scheme was released, transferring ₹22,000 crore to the bank accounts of 9.8 crore farmers.

Under PM-KISAN, eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 annually in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each—first between April and July, second between August and November, and third between December and March.

If Your Installment Has Not Arrived
Farmers facing issues with registration or installment credit can visit the official PM-KISAN website and use the Farmer Corner Help Desk. By entering their Aadhaar number, bank account number, or mobile number, they can submit a query form selecting the relevant problem—such as payment, Aadhaar linking, or account details—and submit it for resolution.

Farmers can also register through Common Service Centres (CSCs), local patwaris, revenue officers, or nodal officers appointed by state governments.

Eligibility and Exclusions
When PM-KISAN was launched in February 2019, it was limited to small and marginal farmers with up to 2 hectares of land. In June 2019, the scope was expanded to cover all eligible farmers.

However, certain categories remain excluded, including institutional landholders, families of constitutional post holders, serving or retired government officials and employees, and staff of public sector undertakings and autonomous government bodies. Professionals such as doctors, engineers, and lawyers, retirees receiving pensions above ₹10,000 per month, and those who paid income tax in the previous assessment year are also ineligible.
