Surat: Under the special summary revision program of the electoral rolls with photographs, conducted by the Election Commission of India with reference to the eligibility date of January 1, 2025, a significant number of eligible voters from 16 assembly constituencies in Surat district submitted claims and objections during the designated campaign days on November 17, 23, and 24, as well as other regular working days.
During the campaign, a total of 77,946 forms were submitted. Among these, under Form No. 6, new voters aged 18-19 filed 11,733 applications, while the age group of 20-29 filed 9,839 applications. Additionally, under Form 6A, 1,816 applications were received, and under Form 7, 7,651 applications were submitted for name deletions. Furthermore, 38,214 applications were filed for corrections and modifications in the electoral rolls. Including applications submitted on regular days at Mamlatdar offices, the total reached 77,946 forms.
On the special campaign days, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) were present to accept applications directly from voters. Thus, the special revision campaign successfully processed 77,946 applications for the electoral rolls.
